Christmas

Christmas is my favorite holiday. Christmas is my favorite holiday because every christmas my family goes to my grandma Peck's house and we all hang out together and open our presents. We un-fill our stockings too. Every year on Christmas morning I am always really excited when I wake up. Some times I get so excited that it is Christmas that I wake up at about 6:00. That is why Christmas is my favorite holiday.
Christmas is the best time of the year. It is always fun to wake up and know that it is Christmas day.

Robotics Competition

                                  Robotics Competition

On Saturday, December 5th 2015, I had a robotics competition. My team name is Thinkronauts. We are green and purple. Our shirts are green. We had to get there at 7:30 am. We set up our pit and then handed out candy. My team is Joey, Camden, Dylan, Nicholas, and Will. I am on a team with all boys. I cannot believe it. First, after we had our first match, we went up to judging. First we went into the core values judging. We had to work together to make a "birthday" present for one of our mentors. Next, we went to robot judging. We had to show our programs to the judges. None of them worked. Finally, we went to presentation judging. Then, we ate lunch. After that, we had another match at 3:30. Next, we just sat and watched because we were not in the finals. When they were done with all the matches, they handed out all the awards. Every team got a participation award. That was the only award our team got. Even though we didn't get a trophy, we all still had a lot of fun. I loved our first robotics competition.

ACT Field Trip

                       ACT Field Trip

At school there is a thing called ACT. It only lets a certain amount of people in. I am in ACT. It is really fun. One time we got to go on a field trip and we went to the Downtown Market. We had to get to the ACT room right when the bell rang for school  to start. First, when we got down there, we got to do a little bit of coloring while we waited for everyone else to get down there. Then we were assigned parent chaperones. I got my mom and along with me, I got Camden, {my brother} Joey, {also my brother} and Mason T. Mrs.Clark {the ACT teacher} came with us. When we got there we all met together. We went into a room where we learned about plants. We tasted plants and they were disgusting. After that, we went to the teaching kitchen. It was a lot of fun. We got to make granola bars and then we made smoothies with berries. We made ice cream out of our smoothies and dry ice. {frozen carbon dioxide} It was cool because when we put in the carbon dioxide it would bubble up and one time it overflowed. Then, we went and ate lunch. After we ate lunch, we all met together and walked across the street to a park we played and then took a picture of all the ACT kids together. Then we all payed and we went back to school. I had an awesome time at our field trip.

One long day at school soon turned into an awesome day. It all started when we were at school and were really bored. We had known we were going to get a cute little puppy named Georgie that day. We thought we were going to get her after school. When my mom was bringing us home from school we were all extremely excited. Finally, we went back to our cozy quiet home, but it was not so quiet. When we got inside there was a white gate in the doorway of the living room. I heard metal jingling. I wondered why there was a white gate in the doorway of the living room. I also wondered why I heard metal jingling, so I walked over there. When I got there I found...

                                             "GEORGIE!"I exclaimed.

                           Authors Note:

Georgie now has many nicknames. I'll give you a few examples. Georgie Porgie, Puppy Sue, Jingles, Bitey, Cuddles and one more example is Puppers. Georgie is extremely active and really loves very much to ride in the car. When we ask her if she wants to go on a ride she dashes as fast as she can toward her leash. She really really loves very very much to eat food that my mom drops on the floor when she is making either lunch or dinner. When my mom makes an egg sandwich for breakfast, {which is usually every morning} she eats the cheese corners.

That is the story of when my family got our dog. If you would like to hear a little more please keep reading. 

When we looked at the dogs to see which one we wanted, we knew Georgie was the one for us. After we were done we went to Culver's. My brothers and I were all chanting, Georgie, Georgie, Georgie! That is a little bit about when we got Georgie.                   

                                

Thanksgiving Break

Over Thanksgiving break I went to Chicago. I went with my friend Sarah, her mom Sherry, and my mom. We walked about six blocks to get to the American Girl Store from our hotel and it was freezing outside. When we got there apparently a little while earlier, there were protesters that tried to get into the building and the whole building was closed. We walked across the street to H and M's. We shopped there for about a half an hour. When we were done shopping and paying we looked across the street and they weren't letting people in from the front but were letting people in from the side of the building. We each got to buy one thing for our American Girl Dolls. 

After we were done paying we went to the Cheesecake Factory. When we were done eating we walked back to the hotel. When we got back, we swam in the pool and then to dry off we went in the sauna. We went into our room and opened our Christmas presents each other. We didn't know what we got each other because we got the same thing so when we opened them it was a nightgown for us and our dolls! Then we got into our pajamas and I put my new dress that I got for my doll on her. My doll's name is Lanie. Sarah's doll's name is Elizabeth. Sarah got her doll a hospital kit so we pretended that they broke their bones. We had a lot of fun. 

After we were done playing dolls, we watched tv until we fell asleep. In the morning when we woke up, we went downstairs to get breakfast. I had a bowl of cocoa krispies and vanilla yogurt with honey. Then, we walked a couple blocks to Gerret's. We bought popcorn and two bottles of water. We bought one bottle for us and one bottle for a homeless person down the street. We gave it to him and said "Merry Christmas." Then we walked down to the train station and ate lunch at Burger King. Then we got on our train and ate popcorn and played games until we got home. I had an amazing time on Thanksgiving break.
